Army chief Kayani meets Nawaz Sharif in Lahore

LAHORE: Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani met PML-N president Nawaz Sharif here on Saturday.
According to a PML-N press release, the meeting took place at the Model Town residence of Shahbaz Sharif.
During the meeting, security and other issues of national interest along with the situation in the region were discussed. COAS and Nawaz Sharif also expressed their determination to fight terrorism. Nawaz praised the role of the army in strengthening democracy and providing security during the elections. The PML_n president also presented the national charter to General Kayani.
Nawaz and Shahbaz Sharif were the only PML-N leaders present at the meeting.
